British doctors have been warned that they are not allowed to respond to any sexual advances from any patients that use any social networking sites such as facebook etc as it will breach their ethical duties.
The main reason why this has been brought to light is a female doctor was asked out for a drink by a patient as she was leaving work, she refused but the patient was able to find her on facebook and see what her hobbies are favourite flowers are to try and persuade her.
If they were to engage it could cause problems due to confidentiality and may also lead to unprofessional content
